Clare Sturm began ministry in the Diocese of Green Bay worship office in 2007 at the invitation of Bishop David Zubik.

Current primary responsibilities include:

  • preparation for annual large Diocesan liturgies and for special Masses for Diocesan Departments
  • assisting parishes and organizations for preparing Masses with Bishop Ricken
  • campus chapel leadership for daily Masses and special occasions, ministries, and music.

Background

Clare holds a Masters of Theological Studies from St. Norbert College. Her BA degree is from Mount Marty College (Benedictine) at Yankton, South Dakota, with studies in Education, Music, and Theology. She taught elementary music in Catholic schools in Yankton and Des Moines, IA.

After replying to a music director position in the American Guild of Organists publication, she was employed as musician and liturgist at St. Bernard Parish in Appleton with pastors Fr. Orville Janssen, Fr. John Bergstadt, and Fr. Dennis Ryan. Clare and her husband have two sons (one deceased) and one grandson. When time permits she enjoys artistry with calligraphy and hand-binding books.
