'Love Begins Here' Connects Youth with Local Mission Experiences

Diocese-Green-Bay-LogoGREEN BAY, Wis. (Feb. 23, 2017) -- This summer, the Diocese of Green Bay will partner with the Diocese of Madison to host local mission experiences based in our communities. Inspired by the life and work of St. Teresa of Calcutta, each mission experience aims to serve those most in need in humble and simple ways.

Love Begins Here (LBH) provides middle and high school youth with an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ in a life-changing way through week long, local mission trips. LBH launched in the summer of 2009 in the Diocese of Madison. Eight years later, over 700 missionaries are serving individuals, parishes, organizations, and communities throughout the Catholic Diocese of Madison. LBH has now branched out to help other Catholic Dioceses and communities engage in their own local mission trips.

Encounter the Lord in New Ways

"When serving as a missionary on Love Begins Here, we will encounter the Lord in new ways through service, prayer, and fun. I know this summer is going to change lives through LBH, and I cannot wait to be a part of it," said Torey Gostas, Love Begins Here intern for the Diocese of Green Bay. "Join us in being a part of local service projects right here in our Diocese, all inspired by the beautiful work of St. Teresa of Calcutta."
