Leader Quest at Camp Tekakwitha

Leader Quest is designed to provide teens with growth in personal leadership, team leadership and camp leadership through unique camp experiences and offsite activities. The skills they develop make them more capable leaders as individuals, as part of a team, and as a member of their own community. The grant money received was used for programming and specialized staff costs to provide this opportunity and meet the needs of this program. "Without the incredibly generous donations from the Catholic Foundation, Camp Tekakwitha's high school Leader Quest campers would be unable to take part in the exhilarating activities intended to develop life-long leadership skills centered in prayer, teamwork and self-confidence," said Chris Refsguard, Associate Director at Camp Tekakwitha.

Message and Meal Speaker Series at St. Paul Parish, Combined Locks

By providing events during the day, Message and Meal Speaker Series seeks to accommodate senior citizens who are often uncomfortable driving at night. The series seeks to foster connections between parishioners and community members by focusing on a theme of faith and community. "It is critical that we support our senior parishioners by providing good opportunities for prayer, and socializing on a regular basis helps these parishioners know they are noticed and important to us," said Maggie Melchior, Coordinator of New Evangelization & Faith Formation at St. Paul Parish in Combined Locks.

Shepherd School

Shepherd School helps prepare and equip new pastors, pastoral leaders, and administrators for leadership roles in parishes. Since 2008, over 80 people have completed this two year formation program, and grants from the Advancing the Mission Leadership Development Endowment have been instrumental in making it affordable for participants and their parishes. A recent participant of Shepherd School said, "The program helped me feel confident that resources exist to help me with the many-faceted demands of parish life."
