Diocesan Pastoral Planning

The Department of Parish Planning and Pastoral Services, under the direction of Barry Metzentine, oversees Diocesan Pastoral Planning.

On June 12, 2011 -- the Solemnity of Pentecost -- Bishop David Ricken promulgated a Diocesan Pastoral Plan for the next five to seven years. The plan was contained in his second pastoral letter, entitled: "Parishes: Called to be Holy, Fully Engaged, Fully Alive," which was released on June 2, 2011. The pastoral letter focuses on the six pastoral areas that the diocese and its 157 parishes will focus on during the next five to seven years so they can better carry out the mission of the church of bringing the Gospel to the world.
