The Sacrament of Marriage is the cornerstone of Catholic family life.
The Diocese provides Marriage Preparation to build relationship skills and healthy married sexuality and to complement your parish's sacramental ministry. After meeting with parish leaders and completing the FOCCUS Inventory, talk with them about which programs will better help you prepare to live the Sacrament of Marriage.

Pope Francis | Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia ('Joy of Love')
Pope Francis on April 8, 2016, released his apostolic exhortation on love in the family -- "Amoris Laetitia" (Latin for "The Joy of Love"). Pope Francis wrote the document after the Vatican hosted synods in 2014 and 2015 examining issues and pastoral challenges related to family life attended by Catholic bishops and invited laity from around the world.
The document, with its positive and hopeful tone, has been called a love letter that invites all people to continue growing in love. The pope calls on the church and its ministers to understand people regardless of where they are in life and to accompany them without judgment, integrating them into the life of the church.
Bishop David Ricken has encouraged Catholics to read "Amoris Laetitia."
