Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Bishop Ricken introduced a renewed vision and mission for the Diocese of Green Bay—focused on building families and communities rooted in discipleship. Together, we seek to discover Jesus, follow Him, worship Him, and share His love with the world.
We are missionary disciples, dedicated to guiding all people toward the Kingdom of God.
As friends and followers of Jesus, we are committed to cultivating households and communities of discipleship, fueled by the mission and ministry of the Catholic Church.
Connect to Inspire
We are able to accomplish more together than we can on our own. The connection we have with God and others creates growth and excitement.
Scripture: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.ˮ – Hebrews 10:24-25
Embrace Peopleʼs Hearts
Each person is created in the image and likeness of God and is deserving of respect and honor. All of our interactions communicate the positive regard and appreciation we have for each and every person.
Scripture: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselvesˮ Romans 12:10
Explore Potential
We all have God-given potential. We work together to see the possibilities and the gifts each of us has been given in order to accomplish the vision and mission of the Church to evangelize and impact communities.
Scripture: “I can do all things in Christ who strengthens meˮ - Philippians 4:13
Empower to Act
All baptized Christians are empowered to act according to the gifts given to them by the Father, through the Son, in the Holy Spirit. By living out the diocesan vision and mission of missionary discipleship, we are empowered to take responsibility to act.
Scripture: “We put no obstacle in any oneʼs way, so that no fault may be found with our ministryˮ - 2 Corinthians 6:3
Nurture Abundant Life and Growth
Life is a gift and we are charged by the Creator to protect it and to foster its growth wherever possible. We actively pursue life over death, potential over limitation, and light over darkness.
Scripture: “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantlyˮ - John 10:10
