Sponsors

Each candidate should prepare with one sponsor who is in good standing with the Church. It is important the candidate's sponsor is present for the Mass. Sponsors will need to check in on the day of the Mass.

Arrival

Everyone should prepare to be seated 60 minutes before Mass and are reminded to dress appropriately for the occasion. Please enter the Cathedral from the parking lot entrance rather than the Monroe St. entrance. Candidates should check-in at the welcome table inside the Cathedral entrance to receive their name tags.  Confirmation Leaders, please make your candidates aware they will be placing a name tag with a sticky back on the left side of their clothing so they can be prepared in choosing their apparel.
Candidates must be accompanied by their sponsors. Sponsors will not need name tags.

Please see the document below regarding dress code requrements for Candidates and Sponsors:

"Confirmation, like every Sacrament, is not the work of men but of God, who cares for our lives in such a manner as to mold us in the image of his Son, to make us capable of loving like him. He does it by infusing in us his Holy Spirit, whose action pervades the whole person and his entire life …"
