As we as a diocesan family continue our journey into missionary discipleship as “Disciples on the Way,” we move into the next phase of our discipleship process, the Worship Jesus years, with a focus on encountering Jesus more deeply in the Word and in the Eucharist. During these next three years, we will undertake a journey to become parishes centered on the Eucharist so that all may come to a greater devotion to God, our Father, and his most beloved Son, Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Providentially, the Worship Jesus years run parallel with the National Eucharistic Revival, whose aim is to encourage “a movement of Catholics across the United States, healed, converted, formed and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist — sent out in mission for the life of the world.

-Bishop David Ricken

Corpus Christi Procession

Corpus Christi Procession from The Compass

The Eucharistic Procession to kick-off the National Eucharistic Revival and the Worship Jesus Years for the Diocese of Green Bay took place June 19, 2022, starting at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral at the conclusion of the 9 a.m. Mass. Bishop David Ricken led the procession on the feast of Corpus Christi from the cathedral to St. Mary of the Angels Church. The 1.2-mile procession traveled down Doty Street to Irwin Avenue on its way to St. Mary of the Angels and ended with benediction and reposition.

Pastoral Letter – Encountering Jesus in the Eucharist: Disciples Called To Worship (2022)

As we continue our journey into missionary discipleship as "Disciples on the Way," we move into the next phase of our discipleship process, the Worship Jesus years. In his latest pastoral letter, Bishop Ricken calls us to a deeper appreciation of Jesus in the Eucharist and a greater focus and study on the Mass.

National Eucharistic Revival

National Eucharistic Revival Website

Encounter the reality of our Eucharistic Lord! The Eucharistic Revival is a three-year initiative of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist lead by the Bishops of the United States. It seeks to bring together clergy, religious, laity, apostolates, movements, and parish and diocesan leaders to spur momentum, collaboration, and lasting impact for the renewal of the Catholic Church in the U.S. The Revival is a grassroots movement of Catholics, each responding to the gift of the Eucharist in their own way. Just as many humble pieces come together to form a glorious stained-glass image, so too will God use each of us, however ordinary or imperfect, to bring about this Revival.
