Eucharistic Revival in our nation has begun!
The 10th National Eucharistic Congress took place in Indianapolis, Indiana from July 17 to July 21, 2024. It was a profound moment for the whole Church in the United States as our Catholic family united in prayer. Over 60,000 Catholics gathered in Indianapolis including over 400 individuals from the Diocese of Green Bay. Our diocese had the largest representation of any diocesan group in the nation. It was only the beginning - A beauitful beginning to revival in our nation.
The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage preceded the National Eucharistic Congress.
In the weeks leading up to the Congress, the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage with Jesus in the Eucharist traveled in procession from coast to coast, including our diocese. As part of the Marian Route of this National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, many individuals and families turned out at events throughout the Diocese of Green Bay to pray, worship and adore Jesus Truly Present in the Eucharist. You can see local coverage of this pilgrimage here, and video from EWTN below.
This is truly is a national reality. One great reality that is at the heart of this, is that we are doing this TOGETHER as one nation and one Catholic Church, whose efforts help and build up one another.
At the core of this united effort, the National Eucharistic Revival has created a robust website at https://www.eucharisticrevival.org where you can find information and resources for yourself, your family, and your parish to use and tap into to spark the flame of revival wherever you are.
On this site, you will find a Year of Mission Playbook complete with blog articles, a weekly newsletter, social media links and other multimedia resources to help you get going. We suggest taking 20 to 30 minutes to simply browse through the site and find something that might interest and engage you further.
Revival begins with you.
While we're all in this together, the reality is that all of this begins with you and your relationship with Jesus in the Eucharist. Every Sunday and every other opportunity you have to receive Him in the Eucharist can become a moment of revival. There are various ways to more deeply engage in your life of faith as part of the Mass. The National Eucharistic Revival team has put together a series of articles to help with this. Visit the Step-by-step walk through the Mass page, and consider reading one, two or ten of the articles there. If you feel moved, consider reaching out to another parishioner, parish staff member or your pastor for ideas on how to actively participate in Mass. Whatever you do, ask Jesus to help you as you do. You will see greater spiritual life and positive spiritual fruit as you do.
Our diocesan Curia is here to help you.
As we move through these days, months, and years of revival ahead, we want you to know that our diocesan Curia are here to help you and your parishes grow in your love of Jesus given to us in the Eucharist. To get started with this, you are encouraged to contact Deacon Mike Eash at 920-272-8270 to get connected to other Eucharistic Revival efforts in the Diocese of Green Bay and find out how you can help bring the light and fire of revival to your home, parish and local community.
