GREEN BAY, Wis. (Dec. 20, 2018) – The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Green Bay, Inc., is overjoyed to announce Cindi Brawner was awarded the Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award from the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. The award, given to an individual fundraising professional who practices his or her profession in an exemplary manner, was presented at the group’s National Philanthropy Day event Nov. 15 in Oshkosh.
Brawner is senior relationship manager for the Catholic Foundation. She previously served as executive director of the Catholic Foundation from 1997 to 2017. Brawner was nominated for the award by Josh Diedrich, executive director of the Catholic Foundation.
To be eligible for the Outstanding Fundraising Profession Award, the recipient must have at least five years of professional fundraising experience, demonstrate quality of leadership and act as a team player, according to the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In addition, the recipient must show a commitment to continuing professional development, to fundraising and philanthropy through volunteer service and financial support of non-profit organizations. “There are many people who could have been chosen for this award,” said Brawner. “I am very honored and humbled to have been this year’s recipient. My career in philanthropy has been successful because of the wonderful philanthropists with whom I’ve had the pleasure to work with and the supportive colleagues I have at the Catholic Foundation. It is really a team effort.”
In 2015, Brawner received the Bishop William G. Connare Award from the International Catholic Stewardship Conference (ICSC). The award recognizes for distinguished service those who have been diocesan stewardship and development officers.
